for everyone
A fish out of water, a stranger in a strange land, an alien, moving in and out among The Normals, sometimes undetected, many times not. Sometimes the scent of different hangs around and The Normals pick up on it and pick on it. Sometimes the scent is deoderized and neutralized.

Or are The Normals a myth? Maybe there are no such people. Given the variety of this list, we fish out of water inhabit many worlds...pops singers, country singers, comedians, artists, christians, agnostics...all have felt the sting of different. Some have embraced it.

So here are some songs with the (sometimes vague) theme of not fitting in. I hope you enjoy them.

Moon Over Bourbon Street and Starry Starry Night are on my personal list of favourites. The others I have only passing familiarity with. Thanks for posting 'em!

I too know what it is to be a stranger in a strange land. But that seems, if you stop and think about it, in a way normal. All of which reminds me oddly enough of a Mike Warnke riff:

Weird stuff is Weird stuff when it happens where Normal stuff is supposed to happen. Normal stuff is, of course, Normal stuff when it happens where Normal stuff is supposed to happen. But! Weird stuff is Normal stuff when it happens where Weird stuff is supposed to happen. And Normal stuff is Weird stuff when it happens where Weird stuff is supposed to happen.

Which just goes to show that a fish in water is wholly unremarkable. So, let us celebrate the Weird stuff, however it may come about.
