Very true...My only reservation is having a season without certain characters that met their demise in the movie...that would be very sad...and of course, the universe they created for this series doesn't really lend itself to bringing characters back from the dead (like Trek managed to do whenever they felt like it...not that I minded, I was usually happy to have the characters back!)

Yeah, I never worry when someone dies on Trek ... cause it's never permanent. But when ... various people ... died in Serenity, I knew it was final.
But, with or without any particular characters, I'd love to watch another season of Firefly. Although I have to say, I'm not sure I agree with the American-TV penchant for having to milk every concept till it's bone-dry. I try to think of Firefly like a good British TV series* -- short but brilliantly executed, and in this case we got a wonderful movie to wrap up the storylines. If we never get another season of Firefly, I'll be happy knowing that somewhere, Mal and River are piloting Serenity, Inara is just about to tell Mal she loves him, Zoe is (in my mind) pregnant with Wash's baby, and Kaylee and Simon are forever having sex in the engine room.
*British TV. Less is more. Do you how many episodes of Fawlty Towers were ever made? TWELVE. And it is immortal. ("Basil!") You don't have to flog a series to death for 7 seasons in order to get the best from it.
Trudy, I appreciated YOUR view of Firefly's future. And I agree about Fawlty Towers -- Where would we be if it weren't for John Cleese as Basil Fawlty yelling at someone or goose-stepping around trying to make the Germans feel at ease!!
